For years, a who’s who of filmmakers and actors have tried to transform the hugely cinematic PlayStation game series Unexplored in a movie. The list of directors who were keen on the material included David O. Russell, Neil Burger, Dan Trachtenberg, and Travis Knight – and over the years names like Mark Wahlberg and Chris Pratt have been cast as potential stars to play the hunt. to the franchise treasure. hero, Nathan Drake.

Finally, the film was directed by director Ruben Fleischer (Venom, the land of zombies) with Tom Holland playing a young version of Drake in a sort of origin story for the character. Wahlberg was injured in the film as well – as Drake’s mentor and sidekick, Sully.
