New ‘Flash’ image teases combo Batman / Flash costume

Flash Director Andy Muschietti has yet another intriguing costume tease from the set of his movie. Since production on the DC Comics blockbuster began in early summer, Muschietti has posted teaser images of his characters’ new superhero costumes on Instagram. There was Michael Keaton’s new Batman costume, Ezra Miller’s updated look as The Flash, and Sasha Calle’s large “S” logo as the new Supergirl.
This week’s picture is a little different. This is a photo of the Keaton Bat jumpsuit, but it was painted red with a yellow lightning bolt over the bat emblem on the chest. So it’s basically a Flash costume over a Batman costume.
So what is it all about? It seems fundamentally impossible that this image was meant to be something cool to post on Instagram; you wouldn’t do this just for fun (unless Flash is manner ahead of schedule and Muschietti is just looking for ways to kill time). So at some point in the movie you have to assume that Bruce Wayne or someone else is doing this to the Batman costume. As to why, I have no idea. Maybe Barry gives Batman some Speed ââForce? Maybe Bruce Wayne decides he’s fed up with dressing like a bat and ready for something a little more colorful?
Yeah, I got nothing. Flash is slated to hit theaters on November 4, 2022. We should see more of the movie – maybe even a first teaser? – at the DC FanDome online event on October 16.
