Keanu Reeves says he would like to replay Constantine

Keanu Reeves returns to the screen as Neo in Matrix resurrections in December, but there’s another role he’d like to reprise in the future – DC anti-hero John Constantine. Reeves first played the cynical occult sleuth in the 2005 Francis Lawrence film Constantine, which is based on DC Comics’ Hellblazer comic.
In a recent interview with Squire, Reeves noted that he would be very interested in representing Constantine in the future. He also pointed out that he played many characters named “John” during his career. âI love playing Constantine. Jean Constantin. I played a lot of Johns. How many Johns have I played? I do not even know. I think it’s more than ten. But anyway, I would love to have the chance to play Constantine again, âReeves said.
Reeves returns as the Different John next year, playing the title role in John wick 4. Besides DC, Reeves also tried to dip his toe into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. According to Squire, Reeves thinks it would be an âhonorâ to play a role in the MCU, and he’s reportedly met Marvel boss Kevin Feige on several occasions.
Besides Reeves, Constantine stars Rachel Weisz, Shia LaBeouf, Tilda Swinton, Peter Stormare and Djimon Hounsou. The film received mixed reviews from critics, but performed well at the box office. In November 2020, Stormare declared on Instagram that a sequel was “in the works”, but Warner Bros. has yet to confirm the news. We will have to wait and see.
