According to ED, an agreement has been signed between the Company, MHADA and Guru Ashish Construction Company for the rehabilitation of 672 families in Patra Chal. The directors of the Guru Ashish company were Rakesh Wadhawan, Sarang Wadhawan and Praveen Raut from HDIL. The company is accused of deceiving MHADA, by first selling the FSI to 9 other builders and depositing 901 crores, then launching a new project named Meadows and collecting Rs 138 crores in the name of booking apartments. But 672 original tenants did not receive their homes. In this way, the company made 1039.79 crores.
ED alleges that HDIL then gave Rs 100 crore to Praveen Raut, director of Guru Ashish Company, of which Praveen Raut gave Rs 55 lakh to Sanjay Raut’s wife, Varsha Raut, which is part of the money laundering.
