Aquaman 2 Spoilers Appear in Depp/Heard Lawsuit
We’ve all seen the media coverage of the ongoing libel lawsuit between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, whether we’re looking for it or not. Vigilant fans may have even learned a little about the upcoming movie Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom if they were very careful. The constant media cycle surrounding the lawsuit has been covered up to nausea elsewhere, so we won’t really talk about it here. What we will discuss is what we know about Aquaman 2 Therefore.
Amid the trial and everything that came before it, Johnny Depp claims he lost a number of roles through his relationship with Heard. He was replaced in the fantastic beasts Mads Mikkelsen franchise, and will not move forward with the Pirates of the Caribbean series either. And Heard claimed his role in the upcoming Aquaman sequel was cut following negative controversy surrounding his various legal battles with Depp.
During one of the trial hearings, Kathryn Arnold spoke. Arnold is an industry consultant, and during the public trial, she described a scene from the beginning of the film. She said (SPOILERS):
They had her in the hospital very shortly in the first part of the movie called Act One. They had her in the hospital and they pretty much had her in the hospital and then she was going to do that action sequence at the end. She goes on to say, “I believe in the first act of the movie, she was hurt in some way…or had something to do with the baby.”
Many people are speculating that his role has been reduced quite dramatically. It remains to be seen until the film actually comes out. There are so many competing statements that it’s hard to know what the movie will actually look like. Heard Mera’s character, Aquaman’s love interest – and now speculation is that her character is pregnant, so maybe that’s what the hospital is all about. Others speculated that the character may have been injured in order to reduce his screen time.
Either way you can see Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom on March 17, 2023, provided the release date is not pushed back again.
