Introducing….Cardiff Geeks!

If you are in the South Wales area or in the vicinity of Cardiff, check out Cardiff Geeks. Led by Ian Wootten, the group has a varied range of members from researchers, computer scientists, web professionals and enthusiasts and is starting to really grow as a community.

Recently, a ‘Geek Night’ was organized in Cardiff at Cafe Floyd and presentations were made by Mark Boulton of Mark Boulton Design and Dan Zambonini of Box UK. I was gutted I did not attend as I only found out about the group a mere day after the event.

However, there are more nights like this planned and if you wish to join in and meet some fine and talented people from the South Wales area, visit the Cardiff Geeks Website or you could alternatively join the mailing list via the Google group. Also there is a Facebook Group you can check out.

Here’s a short review with pics by Dan Zambonini from the latest Geek Night in Cardiff

  • Hey

Thought you might be interested to know that we’re planning the next Cardiff Web Scene Meet-Up (same as Cardiff Geeks, just with a name change). It’s on Wednesday 4 June at 6:30pm at 10 Feet Tall in Cardiff. You can register for the event at http://cardiffwebscene.eventbrite.com … maybe see you there?!

  • Thanks Claire! It’s a shame that I will miss it as I will be on an aeroplane at that exact day :-( I will however, go to the next meet up! :-)
